Add audio to WordPress.com for Free

Step by step how to add audio to your WordPress.com blog

A few weeks ago I wrote a post describing how to get almost anything into your WordPress.com blog – for free. At the time, I was stumped by audio. Although there are many places that stream audio directly, there seemed to be no where to host mp3 files and stream them yourself through WordPress.com. After searching the four corners of the Web, I came upon Archive.org a free place to store all sorts of media files.  YES, they let you stream your audio on your WordPress.com Blogsite.

This short pdf document gives step by step instruction on getting audio into your posts to liven things up a bit for your readers.

Also, by copying the URL from Archive.org, it is simple to add a hyperlink to your audio from email, newsletters and virtually any Web page.  You can even prepare audio files for use in location specific media projects,  for example: streaming audio to handheld phones.  Cool!
