Give location specific travel advice to visitors via cellphone

by Todd Lucier on August 7, 2008

This version of the Internet Marketing Podcast asks tourism regions and businesses to consider the value of delivering location specific audio information to travellers in your area. A new service that links your cell phone, it’s gps coordinates, and Internet maps, Geograffiti.com gives travellers instantaneous access to audio messages that are tagged to geo-tagged locations anywhere in the world.

  • Yes heard about this concept/technology a year or so back. One tourism site we were talking to were considering using it to track approaching coachloads of potential vistors even to the extent that if they might be able to determine what nationality they were from the mobile phone addresses!

Here in the UK there are sites that are very sophisticated in using new (and old) technology -others are still debating about collecting postcodes to work out where their vsitors come from!
