The Tourism Twitter Project

by Todd Lucier on April 16, 2008

Twitter works when we follow interesting people. It isn’t as narcissistic as it might seem. It’s really a way to learn from people who share your interests all over the world, by following their tweets!

It’s instant blogging the hive mind.

If you haven’t yet found Twitter interesting, its likely because you aren’t following anyone interesting. Twitter is a great way to point to outstanding Tourism Web resources, meet others who share your Tourism interests, and engage people who share your interests – all over the world.

Let’s get all the Tourism Twits together and get connected!

Who’s out there Twittering in Tourism?

1] Join Twitter

2] Send a tweet using the following form: “city, country; tourism role; TOURISMTWIT”

3] Visit www.tweetscan.com and search for TOURISMTWIT

4] Find Tourism folk there and start following people. Together we can have a much greater impact by learning from one another.

5] Send a link to this page in an email. Invite to anyone you know who is interested in Tourism and wants to network with others to help the tourism industry benefit from Internet technologies.

6] Try a twitter client like twhirl

Let’s see what happens!  Thanks to TheCleverSheep for inspiring the Tourism Twitter Project.

  • Thanks for starting this. I am surprised to see that there are not many tweets with the key word "TOURISMTWIT".
