Show Adwords to targetted audience by demographics instead of keywords

by Todd Lucier on March 27, 2008

Google announces a new marketing opportunity that you might want to use to target market to your niche. Called Demographic bidding , Google analyzes users interest based on their participation at social networks and allows advertisers to show ads to targetted audience… it’s that simple. Suppose you want to advertise to families with children who enjoy horseback riding – you could have your ad shown exclusively to people who fit that profile….

I know, pretty powerful stuff.

Imagine now, you design a web page targeting this demographic, create a great ad, targetting this user…. and your ad only being show to families with children who enjoy horseback riding. I’d bet you might find some successful recruitment of families who enjoy horseback riding.

Think of your ideal guest… paint a clear picture, then consider advertising directly to them on Google!

Hi Todd, this is allegedly a mirror of what Facebook is doing, however, unlike facebooks ad options, as far as I know, I have never given google a profile of myself, my family, or any other demographic information. Correct me if I am wrong but I am a little sceptical about googles ability to zoom in on the true demographics. Ron
